What is “Tall” in Japan?
I picked up a metropolis magazine and in the personal ad section it seems that every Japanese girl wants a tall, rich, handsome, foreign business man. I am 172cm. Is that good enough or are they talking like 180 or 190 or something equally freakish?
According to official statistics, the average height for Japanese men is 170.7 cm (and 157.9 cm for Japanese women).
So any height above this average could be considered “tall” in Japan.
